Every child experiences the world differently.
Some children simply experience more of it.
More movement. More noise. More thoughts. More feelings. More sensory information. More difficulty switching off. More frustration when their body can't quite do what their mind wants it to do.

And sometimes, more expectations to fit into environments that weren't designed with their nervous system in mind.
At Achieving Balance, I take a whole-body, whole-brain approach to supporting ADHD and neurodivergent children.
Whether we are working together in my Coffs Harbour clinic or online from anywhere in NSW or Australia, the intention remains the same: To better understand the child in front of us.
Not to make them quieter.
Not to make them more compliant.
And certainly not to take away the qualities that make them uniquely them.
Instead, kinesiology gives us another way to become curious about what may be happening underneath the overwhelm, movement, emotion, fatigue or difficulty concentrating — and explore what might help their body feel safer, more organised and more supported.lique quisquam et deserunt, recusandae here.
We begin with what you are noticing.
That might be something very specific, such as sleep, school anxiety, emotional outbursts or concentration.
Or it might simply be: “Something doesn't feel right and I'm not sure where to start.” That's enough.
Kinesiology uses gentle muscle monitoring as a form of biofeedback to guide the session.
From there, we may explore a combination of nervous system regulation, movement, acupressure, emotional stress, Brain Gym-style activities, developmental reflexes, body awareness, breathing or other kinesiology techniques according to the individual child.
There is no one protocol that every ADHD or neurodivergent child needs.
Because there is no one ADHD child.
There is no one autistic child.
There is only your child.
And that's who I want to understand.

When a child's system is overwhelmed, asking for more concentration, more self-control or better behaviour isn't always the first answer.
Sometimes we need to ask:
What is making this hard right now?
Are they overloaded?
Are they tired?
Do they need movement?
Is the environment too stimulating?
Are they trying to process too many instructions?
Is their body working extraordinarily hard simply to sit, listen and organise itself?
What happens when we support the nervous system before increasing the expectation?
This shift alone can change the way we see a child.
Sometimes parents arrive tired too.
You've read the books.
You've spoken to the teacher.
You've tried the charts, reminders, routines and rewards.
You're doing everything you can, and still wondering whether you're missing something.
You don't need to arrive with all the answers.
Part of this work is slowing things down enough to look at the child as a whole rather than chasing every individual behaviour.
Because underneath the behaviour is a nervous system.
Underneath the nervous system is a child.
And that is where I like to begin.
If your child is finding parts of their world harder to navigate — emotionally, physically, socially or through learning — kinesiology can offer a gentle space to explore what their body may need.
No pressure to perform.
No expectation to become someone different.
Just curiosity, connection and support designed around the child in front of us.
Come as you are.
